IWho is it for
For SMEs that have (or want) a Pennylane accountant and are tired of monthly PDFs.

IVFrequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we’re asked most often
What’s the difference between 'Pennylane-compatible' and 'native Pennylane integration'?
Many vendors claim to be 'Pennylane-compatible' but only offer a manual CSV export to upload. True native integration (like Orizen) means invoices, credit notes, customers and VAT are automatically transferred via API in real time, with no human intervention. The difference is clear from the first week of use.
Do I need a paid Pennylane account to use this integration?
Yes. Pennylane is a separate product from Orizen, with its own subscription (Pennylane starts at around €35/month for a micro-business, more depending on volume). The Orizen ↔ Pennylane integration itself is free — you pay for each tool based on what it does, not for the integration between them.
Does my accountant have access to my Orizen data?
Indirectly. Your accountant accesses Pennylane (which contains all your accounting data synced from Orizen). They don’t need access to Orizen itself unless they want to see business details (original quote, client exchanges). This boundary preserves commercial confidentiality while ensuring accounting completeness.
Is VAT really reconciled automatically?
Yes. The VAT collected on your Orizen invoices and the deductible VAT on your purchases (if you enable the Purchases module) directly feed into the Pennylane VAT return. Your accountant validates the CA3 form in a few clicks, using exhaustive and already reconciled figures. No manual calculations, no VAT discrepancies.
What if I don’t have a Pennylane accountant yet?
Two options: (1) Pennylane offers a platform to connect with partner accounting firms. (2) If you already have a traditional accountant, Orizen exports in the standard FEC format, which all accounting software accepts (Sage, Cegid, EBP, etc.). Many of our clients start with FEC and switch to Pennylane after a few months.
How long does setup take?
5 to 10 minutes for initial setup: Pennylane OAuth authentication, selecting sync flows, mapping accounting accounts with your chart of accounts. No development, no integrator, no implementation costs. Syncing existing data (historical invoices) then takes a few hours in the background.
VOur conviction
"Compatible" means nothing. Only native integration adds real value.
The SaaS software market is flooded with "Pennylane compatible" claims that just mean CSV export. This paper compatibility achieves nothing: your accountant still re-enters data, your VAT isn’t reconciled, and you’re paying for two tools that don’t communicate.
A true native integration is different: OAuth authentication, two-way API, account mapping, error handling, real-time updates. This level of integration isn’t improvised—it’s built with the partner vendor.
We’ve seen too many SMEs sign up for a SaaS "compatible with Pennylane" only to discover three months later that compatibility just meant "you can export to CSV". Too many accountants still re-enter data despite the marketing promise.
So we built Orizen with a native Pennylane integration, designed hand-in-hand with their technical teams. No CSV. No exports. A real real-time API sync, validated by accountants. Because compatibility should be measured in hours saved by your accountant, not in lines on a product sheet.
